Senior Portraits {Class of 2014}

Published July 17, 2013 in fun stuff, Just some Chat!, my life, Senior

The words “Class of 2014″… as a portrait photographer taking senior photos for many years now, its a bit different this year. When my Emmelie went to kindergarden 12 years ago, those words seemed so far off. As if they were likely never to really arrive. She was 5 for goodness sake, no where near ready to think about the far off 2014. I mean really, why were they even labeling her as a class of anything! Was that just yesterday? Where have the last 12 years gone? I know its a bit over said, but, really, I blinked and […]

For the Love of a Horse, The rescue of Kavala.

This is not my usual type of blog post…. I am mainly wanting to archive our story here for personal reasons. But, with that said, it is a sweet story, and worth the read. We have been having an interesting summer in our family. There has been an adoption. Of the Equestrian variety :). My middle daughter Hannah has wanted a horse for more years than I can remember. Family at the Lake Cabin, Pine River MN

Published July 15, 2013 in Family

Some if you know that last week I took a couple days and went out of town for a session. It was a special and fun time for me, as the session is with one of our Aunt and Uncles family. They are now “retired” but you all know what that really means 🙂 Their kids all […]

Probably the song that gets me most is “Proud to be an American” by Lee Greenwood…. ha, I remember as a young teen, loving that song and well, really anything he wrote. My parents even took me my first concert to see Lee Greenwood. Yep, I cried through the song. Its a memory I am not likely to forget. […]

Check these adorable photos out!! If you can look past the extremely beautiful young girl, you will notice my fun new prop! I am in LOVE with this little sofa. The color is outstanding and versatile, the fabric is soooo soft, and the shape of it just speaks creativity! Can not wait to take many different varieties of photos with this. I already have a client who wants us to load it up to her field of yellow flowers…. ooooh, makes me want to wiggle with excitement 🙂 Have a super lovely day!

Wrapping up the silly session with a Turtle!

These kids do not lack energy, giggles, and ideas! It was so much fun working with them and seeing what we could come up with. We went to one of my favorite locations, and were even blessed with a guest turtle in our session. Just wanted to pop on today and share a few of my favorites from the evening. Enjoy!
